The screenings will always be in Italian with Italian subtitles.

The tenth movie of the series will be "MEDITERRANEO", film made in 1991 and directed by Gabriele Salvatores. This movie won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Winter, cold, Christmas and the waiting trip to Trento to mini-markets are coming and instead of showing you a movie based on this season, we want to carry you to the middle of Mediterranean Sea, in summer, in a warm and sunny day, where there are a lot of magnificent, exotic and legendary places, to let you dream a bit.

In June of 1941, eight soldiers of Italian Royal Army were sent to guard a little Greek island in Aegean Sea, called Kastellorizo (or also Megisti, that it means “the biggest one”), apparently desolate, where they had stayed until winter of 1943, leading a quiet and simple life in which adventures and loves mingle and their lives had been leading in a complete serenity until the news of Armistice of Italy with Anglo-American Alliance and the consequent end of the war, it will mean to leave the island for good…maybe.

Salvatores tells us an allegoric tale about the friendship and the wish to escape, far from the time and from every other place, without criticism about the darkest period of twentieth century. In the background Paradisiac environment where the clear blue sea and the pure white sand alternate. At the end of the movie it appears “to everyone is escaping”, included you, because what is Erasmus if not a break out from the routine? Considered that "In times like these, escape is the only way to stay alive and keep dreaming" [H. Laborit].
